Mad World
This song was originally performed by Tears for Fears and I definitely feel it is one of their all time best, however Gary Jules remade the song and did an excellent job so for your viewing pleasure…
How to embarass a co-worker
Recipe:
1 part demented office staff, 1 part inflatable adult party favor, 1 part public restaurant and finally 1 part unknowing co-worker. Blend all together and let the laughs begin…
As I wrote in the previous post, we had our Christmas party today. A few months back when we were planning this party, we had set it up so that one of my landmen, Steve Hamilton, would receive a certain gift at the party. The reason for this “gift” was due to the fact that when I am not running him ragged, he raises and shows (quite sucessfully I might add) sheep. As you can see from the picture he now has a new sheep to be proud of. And yes, that is an inflatable sheep, we just could not convince him to remove it from the box and blow that thing up. My office can be baaaaad.
Harmony 1000
Today we had my office Christmas party/gift exchange. I took my entire staff to eat and just prior to our food being brought to us, we all exchanged our respective gifts. Once everyone had theirs opened, I was given another wraped box, at which time I looked up and found 20 pair of eyes watching me (which can be rather unnerving). I proceeded to open the present and to my utter surprise I found that my entire office had gone together and gotten me a Logitech Harmony 1000 universal remote control. I honestly was at a loss and cannot get over the fact that they went to the expense they did. I mentioned this remote probably 6 months back and only in passing that I would eventually like to have one and someone retained that information. I have an absolutely amazing staff. I cannot wait to get home and try this bad boy out!
Olympus E-520
Not too far back, I purchased my wife a Sony DSC-H3 “point and shoot” camera. This things takes amazing pictures, has excellent battery life and actually has a few interchangeable lenses that are available for purchase. Cindy has used the Sony non-stop and has really enjoyed photography since I purchased it for her, so I decided to get her a better quality more feature-rich camera for Christmas. I was originally comparing only the Nikon D60 and Canon EOS Digital Rebel XS. Both of these cameras have excellent features and take great pictures. I went into a local professional camera retailer and was presented with another choice in my comparison, the Olympus Evolt E-520. Again, this camera has excellent features and takes wonderful pictures. Side by side, the three are all ~10 megapixels and the feature list is almost identical between them, with one exception: with the Nikon and Canon, the image stabilization feature comes only with specific models of lenses, whereas with the Olympus, image stabilization is built into the body itself and does not rely on the lense. That one feature sold me on the Olympus and I purchased the camera right there on the spot. Now, hopefully she will enjoy the camera…

Eggnog
Is Eggnog considered liquid gold? As I absolutely love the stuff, I went to the store to pick some up. Imagine my surprise when I walk up to the cooler and find that Eggnog is a mere $4.12 for a half-gallon of the non-alcoholic stuff! Did I miss something? Is there an egg shortage? Possibly a nog shortage? I mean what the hell?!?
